Oldschool Barbering is a seminar centred on cutting technique and grooming more broadly, covering the haircuts of the 1920s through to the late 1950s – looks that remain timeless and still define the image today.
The revival of the traditional barbershop in today’s market has brought every classic haircut of the 1920s to the 1950s back into fashion, along with the wider aesthetic of the era.
Together we will discover not only the techniques behind these looks, but also take a historical journey through the barbershops of the time, identifying the sources of inspiration so that we can build a fuller picture of this aesthetic.
The Oldschool Barbering seminar covers 4 iconic looks (Elephant Trunk Mullet, Tapered Pompadour, Slick Back Middle Part, Faded Side Part). Working from these, we break down the cutting techniques while going deep into the styling techniques that are decisive in achieving a genuine oldschool image.
In this seminar we work on strong weight lines and fades, with dynamic gradations in the contrast of the shading.
Oldschool Barbering is aimed at intermediate and professional barbers and hairdressers who want to broaden their knowledge of men’s cutting, as well as at true enthusiasts of the era.
